Christine M. Hernández, Esq., is a partner at Hernandez & Associates, P.C. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) and serves as Co-Chair for their Immigration Committee. She is also serves as a member of HNBA's Advocacy Day Planning Committee and Finance Development Committee. Christine is a member of the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA) and serves as Chair of their Education Committee. She has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 2005. She currently serves on the ICE Liaison Committee for the Colorado Chapter and has served as Vice-Chair of AILA National's Removal Issues Committee, member of AILA National's 2013 Annual Conference Committee, member of AILA National's EOIR Liaison Committee, Chair of AILA Colorado's Member Services Committee, Chair of AILA Colorado's GEO Liaison Committee, Mentor of AILA Colorado's GEO Liaison Committee, and member of AILA Colorado's EOIR Liaison Committee. She is also a member of the DU Latino Alumni Committee, Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and the Rhone Bracket Inn of Courts. She has represented immigration clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, as well as the 9th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeals. She also represents clients in criminal proceedings before the various state and federal courts in Colorado. She graduated from the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law and received her B.S. B.A. degree from American University in Washington, D.C., graduating magna cum laude, with a focus in International Business. Publications include: "Are Unaccompanied Alien Children Really Getting a Fair Trial? An Overview of Asylum Law and Children," Denver Journal of International Law and Policy, vol. 33, no. 4, (Sept. 22, 2005), pp. 641-674. CLE presentations include: "When Should I Consult an Immigration Attorney?" for Rhone Bracket Inn of Courts; "Removal Proceedings" for RMIAN; "Reject Me Not: New Practitioners & Paralegals Guide to the Immigration Court Manual" for AILA; "Immigration Consequences of Criminal Convictions" for the Aurora City Public Defender's Office; Demonstrating Exceptional and Extremely Unusual Hardship for AILA Colorado; and Best Practices: DACA for AILA Colorado. She also presented on the topic of "Legal Developments on US Immigration Law" for HNBA's 2015 Advocacy Day. She has clerked at the Denver Immigration Court and Supremo Tribunal de Justicia in Guanajuato, Mexico. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
